the college of life sciences was founded and comprised of the departments of botany, zoology and the institute of molecular biology in 1994.

• The Department of Zoology was formed.The Department of Botany and the lnstitute of Molecular Biology were incorporated into the College of Life Sciences. The doctoral degree program was offered in the lnstitute of Molecular Biology in 1994.
• The lnstitute of Biochemistry was formed in 1996.
• The doctoral degree program was offered in the lnstitute of Biochemistry. Extension Education program offering a master degree in life sciences was formed in 1999.
• The lnstitute of Biomedical Sciences was formed in 2001.
• The Department of Botany and Zoology combinethe into the Department of Life Sciences in 2002.
• The doctoral degree program was offered in the lnstitute of Biomedical Sciences. The lnstitute of Medical Technology was formed in 2006.
• The lnstitute of Bioinformatics was formed in 2008.
• The lnstitute of Medical Technology will combinethe into the lnstitute of Biomedical Sciences.The lnstitute of Bioinformatics will change to The lnstitute of Genomics and Bioinformatics in 2009.
• The Center for Gobal Change Biology was formed. Rong Hsing Research Center for Translational Medicine was formed in 2012.
• The Doctoral Degree Program in Medical Biotechnology was formed in 2013.
• The Doctoral Degree Program in Translational Medicine in 2014.
• The Center for Rong Hsing Research Center for Translational Medicine was promoted as a formal establishment in 2018.
• Research Center for Global Change Biology approved by the Ministry of Education was attached to the College of Life Sciences on August 1, 2018.
• The Center for Biomedical Research and Industrialization (CBRI) was established in 2018.
